WELCOME TO THE OWL CLASS!
(Ages 3.5 – 5 years: Pre-K)
Our Owl Class is a dynamic and engaging Pre-K environment designed to give children the best of both worlds — joyful play and exploration combined with meaningful academic preparation. Play remains at the heart of learning, while academic concepts are introduced in developmentally appropriate ways to spark curiosity and readiness for kindergarten or transitional kindergarten.
Using programs such as Mat Man and Handwriting Without Tears, children develop strong pre-writing and fine motor skills while building confidence in letter recognition and early literacy. Small group instruction with a low 1:10 ratio allows teachers to individualize learning experiences during center time. Our curriculum emphasizes Project-Based Learning, where children explore real-world topics through hands-on activities that nurture creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Daily opportunities in STEM, art expression and appreciation, music, and movement encourage well-rounded growth across all areas of development.
In addition to cognitive and academic readiness, the Owl Class focuses deeply on social-emotional development — helping children strengthen self-regulation, cooperation, and empathy. Teachers guide students in learning how to navigate friendships, share ideas respectfully, and manage emotions effectively. Language development continues to expand through storytelling, conversation, and rich vocabulary experiences.
Physical growth is supported through daily outdoor play in our spacious, park-like yard — an extension of the classroom where children explore, build, and create in nature. Our Garden Program enhances science and environmental awareness as children discover where food comes from and participate in planting, watering, and harvesting.
Our teachers are dedicated, experienced educators who meet each child at their individual stage of growth. They lovingly guide children through every developmental milestone — fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning as they prepare for the exciting transition to kindergarten or transitional kindergarten.
